Types of Used Mills Available
Aaron Equipment offers a range of used mills designed to support size reduction, grinding, and material processing applications:
Hammer Mills – High-speed impact mills used to crush and grind materials into smaller particles through repeated hammering action.
Ball Mills – Rotating mills that use grinding media to reduce material size through impact and attrition.
Roller Mills – Compression mills that reduce material size by passing it between rotating rollers for controlled particle sizing.
Colloid Mills – High-shear mills designed for emulsifying, dispersing, and fine grinding of liquids and semi-solids.
Pin Mills – Fine grinding mills that use intermeshing pins to achieve uniform particle size reduction.
Sand & Media Mills – Wet grinding mills that use media agitation for fine dispersion and particle size reduction in slurries.
Mill Applications & Industry Uses
Used mills are essential across industries where particle size reduction and material conditioning are required. Common applications include:
Chemical Processing: Grinding powders, pigments, and intermediates
Food & Beverage: Milling grains, spices, and ingredients
Pharmaceutical Manufacturing: Fine particle size reduction for formulations
Minerals & Mining: Crushing and grinding ores and aggregates
Plastics & Polymers: Size reduction of pellets and regrind materials
These systems improve material consistency, increase surface area, and enhance downstream processing efficiency.
Used Mill Buying Considerations
When selecting a used mill, it is important to evaluate both process requirements and equipment condition:
Material Characteristics: Hardness, moisture content, and abrasiveness
Particle Size Requirements: Desired output size and uniformity
Grinding Method: Impact, compression, or attrition depending on application
Throughput Capacity: Match system output with production needs
Wear Components: Evaluate liners, hammers, or grinding media condition
Condition & Maintenance History: Review prior usage and service records
