Aaron Equipment Company buys and sells high quality unused and used ball mills. Ball mills are commonly used for crushing and grinding the materials into an extremely fine form. Ball mills have a wide application, used for continuous operation, and can be used in highly abrasive materials. Ball mills consists of a hollow compartment that rotates along a horizontal or vertical axis. It’s called a “ball mill” because it’s literally filled with balls. Materials are added to the ball mill, at which point the balls knock around inside the mill.
It works on the principle of impact and attrition: size reduction is done by impact as the balls drop from near the top of the shell. Ball mills differ in their maximum capacity of the milling vessel, ranging from 0.010 liters for planetary ball mills, mixer mills, or vibration ball mills to several 100 liters for horizontal rolling ball mills.

Driven by 275 kW (370 HP) motor through 10:1 gear reducer, inside dimensions measure 2420mm diameter by 4500 mm long. Includes girth ring, trunnions, and spare motor. System includes Ramsey Weigh Belt Feeder, 600 mm wide, with load cells, controls, and spare belt; 8 diameter ANIVI-Sturtevant Dynamic Air Classifier driven by 25kW motor; (3) 9" diameter Jervis B. Web Screw Conveyors, measuring 12, 20, and 22 long; (2) Mikro-Pulsaire Dust Collectors (model 49S-4-20, 461 Sq Ft and model 81S-8-20, 762 Sq Ft); and 40 high ANIVI Bucket Elevator. Unused Model BM-223 all-stainless-steel ball mill with a 2-degree tapered cylinder for full discharge and split, hinged clamshell dry discharge housing. Mill cylinder measures 40" diameter x 44" long inside the shell with 5/8" shell thickness, 304 stainless steel product-contact construction, and 32 RA internal finish with 180 grit polish. Welded lifter bars terminate 1.5" from the ends, with welds ground to a minimum 1/4" radius and finished pit-free. Total mill volume is 32 cubic feet / 234 gallons with an 8 cubic foot dry working volume, equal to 25% of total volume. Unit includes a 13.25" x 14.75" rectangular cover hatch, contoured stainless steel grinding cover, and stainless steel dry discharge cover with 0.25" slots. The dry discharge housing fully encloses the cylinder and incorporates the patented 2-degree taper for full discharge, stainless steel counterweights, nominal 60-degree chute/hopper, 12" square bottom discharge opening, 48" discharge height, and sliding UHMW top cover. Driven by an SEW hollow-bore 20 HP TEFC motor rated for 230/460V, 3-phase, 60 Hz operation with nominal cylinder speed of 24 RPM. Unit is supported by two welded carbon steel A-frame stands with height extensions and Sherwin-Williams Tile Clad epoxy coating. Overall dimensions are approximately 138" high x 105" long x 64" deep. Possible applications and suitable products include dry batch grinding, milling, blending, and size reduction of compatible powders, pigments, ceramics, chemicals, minerals, and other dry solid materials.

Used- Orbis Machinery Model SBM-7272-170 jacketed horizontal ball mill with approximately 1,269-gallon (169.7-cu.-ft.) cylinder capacity, designed for a maximum media loading of approximately 25,380 lb. of steel media at 50% volume and dry-product loading of approximately 42.5 cu. ft. at 25% volume. The cylinder inner shell and heads are constructed of abrasion-resistant AR-400 steel, the jacket shell is SA-516 Grade 70 carbon steel, and the dry-discharge shroud and support stands are A-36 or better structural steel. The cylinder is rated for atmospheric pressure, and the jacket is rated for 15 PSIG at 250F. Equipped with a 150 HP C-face TEFC motor with brake, rated 460-volt, 3-phase, 60-Hz, and a hollow-bore C-face gear reducer providing a maximum cylinder speed of 22 RPM, reduced to 20 RPM through a variable-frequency drive. Includes a dry-product discharge shroud, cylinder indexing system with sensor and target disc, dual-flow 3-inch NPT rotary union, siphon-tube assembly, shaft seals, two 8-15/16-inch-bore pillow-block bearings, drive-end and idler-end support stands, a 20" x 20" inch loading hatch with tool-free quick-opening handles, 14" x 16" inspection opening with bolt-on cover, approximately 10" x 10" bottom discharge with drilled flange for a customer-supplied valve, vibrator mounts, 2-1/2" NPT jacket-feed connection, 1-1/4" NPT jacket-return connection, and stainless-steel jacket piping, fittings, unions and flexible hose assemblies.
