Available for sale is a used Orbis Machinery Model SBM-7272-170 jacketed horizontal ball mill with an approximately 1,269-gallon (169.7-cu.-ft.) cylinder capacity.

Designed for heavy-duty dry milling and grinding applications, the mill is engineered for a maximum media charge of approximately 25,380 lb of steel grinding media at 50% cylinder volume. Recommended dry-product loading is approximately 42.5 cu. ft. at 25% cylinder volume.

For abrasion resistance, the cylinder inner shell and heads are constructed of AR-400 steel. The external jacket shell is SA-516 Grade 70 carbon steel, while the dry-discharge shroud and support stands are fabricated from A-36 or better structural steel.

The process cylinder is designed for atmospheric pressure, while the jacket is rated for 15 PSIG at 250°F, allowing compatible temperature-control media to circulate around the cylinder during processing.

Power is provided by a 150 HP C-face TEFC motor with brake, rated 460V, 3-phase, 60 Hz. A hollow-bore C-face gear reducer provides a maximum mechanical cylinder speed of approximately 22 RPM, with operating speed reduced to approximately 20 RPM through a variable-frequency drive (VFD).

Additional features include a dry-product discharge shroud, cylinder indexing system, dual-flow 3" NPT rotary union, siphon-tube assembly, shaft seals, heavy-duty pillow-block bearings, stainless steel jacket piping, quick-opening loading hatch, inspection opening, and bottom product discharge.
