The attrition mill is a device for mechanically reducing solid particle size by intense agitation of a slurry of material being milled and coarse milling media. Attrition mills are more appropriate for "mid-range" size particles. Attrition milling is simple and effective. Attrition mills can operate in either batch or continuous mode and suit harder-to-grind material such as metal powders, metal carbides and glass frits. Refining mills are suitable for applications such as wood chips, paper, animal feed, and plastics. Used- IPEC 500 HP Attrition Mill/Air Swept Mill, with 72" diameter X 76" high milling chamber, Model 7000. Milling chamber is fed by 4" diameter screw feed, chamber includes 6-rows of high-speed rotating disc with 3" wide x 4" high x 3/8" thick hammers. Hammers are driven by vertically mounted 500 HP motor thru v-belt assembly. Milling chamber includes 40" x 16" side top discharge to dust collection system. Mill is fed by mezzanine mounted, carbon steel hopper measuring approximately 9' wide x 8' long X 8' deep with steep sides. Milling chamber height measurements: 20" high top section, 36" flange-to-flange middle section and 20" high bottom section. Previously used to mill nut shells. Recently added liners and bearings.
