Description

The Used & Reconditioned Davis-Standard 6" Single Screw Extruder, Model Thermatic 60IN60, is a heavy-duty extrusion system engineered for high-output polymer processing applications. Originally manufactured in 2004 and professionally reconditioned, this machine features significant mechanical and electrical upgrades, making it an excellent alternative to purchasing new equipment.

The extruder is equipped with a 6-inch single screw, 24:1 L/D ratio, and a Thermatic barrier flight screw designed to deliver excellent melt quality and processing efficiency across a wide variety of thermoplastic materials. The screw and barrel remain within serviceable tolerances, providing reliable production capability.

Power is supplied through a 17.21:1 heavy-duty gearbox rated for 424 HP with a 1.5 service factor, driven by a new 400 HP TECO AC motor and new TECO AC variable frequency drive, providing efficient speed control and dependable operation.

The machine incorporates a water-cooled barrel, complete with an integrated water reservoir, recirculation pump, and heat exchanger for consistent process temperature control. Heating is managed through five barrel heating zones and six die heating zones, all monitored by new Novus digital temperature controllers and amp gauges.

Additional operator features include a swing-arm operator station, speed pod, pressure gauge, screw speed gauge, and a 42-inch centerline height for convenient integration into existing extrusion lines.

As part of the reconditioning process, the heater bands have been electrically tested, barrel plumbing and heat exchangers have been flow tested, and five new Red Hat solenoid valves have been installed to ensure dependable operation.
