Description

The Used & Reconditioned Davis-Standard 6" Single Screw Extruder, Model 600S Thermatic, is a professionally rebuilt extrusion system engineered for demanding thermoplastic processing applications. Originally manufactured in 1998 and reconditioned in 2025, this machine has received significant mechanical and electrical upgrades, providing reliable production performance with modern controls and drive technology.

The extruder features a 6-inch PE/PP processing screw with a 30:1 L/D ratio, offering excellent melt quality, mixing efficiency, and throughput for polyethylene, polypropylene, and similar thermoplastic materials. Power is transmitted through a 17.21:1 heavy-duty gearbox, which has been professionally rebuilt with all internal bearings replaced except the thrust bearing.

The drive system has been upgraded with a new 300 HP Westinghouse AC motor and a new WEG AC inverter drive, delivering precise speed control, improved energy efficiency, and dependable operation.

Temperature control is managed through a refurbished 10-zone electrical control panel featuring six barrel heating zones and four downstream heating zones, all equipped with new Eurotherm 3216 digital temperature controllers for accurate thermal management.
