Complete Used BUSS Loop Reactor High Pressure Hydrogenation Plant for Lactitol Production. Lactitol is produced via catalytic hydrogenation, in an industrial plant using high-pressure, high-temperature conditions (bars) to add hydrogen to lactose. The process utilizes catalysts Raney Nickel in a continuous stirred-tank reactor (CSTR) to yield high-purity lactitol, a sugar alcohol used as a sweetener. Key Components of a Lactitol Plant includes a Hydrogenation Reactor: A CSTR or slurry-type reactor is commonly used, with, for example, EKATO technologies offering turnkey solutions to handle hydrogen gas and catalysts. Catalyst System: Raney nickel (sponge nickel) is a standard catalyst Purification Unit: Post-reaction, the mixture is filtered to remove the catalyst and purified using ion-exchange resins. Crystallization and Drying: The purified lactitol solution is concentrated by evaporation, crystallized under controlled conditions and then dried to form lactitol monohydrate. This is a Complete System Currently in Operation. Main System Components include: Patterson Industries 5200 gallon Reaction Vessel, 316L stainless steel, rated FV/1020 PSI at 300 degrees F, includes lower & upper Loop Reaction Piping. Biral-Buss High Pressure Pump, Type NZP 340-250-1 Sunitrol Raw Material (Lactose) Feed Pump, 250 HP/460V Braun + Luebbe 15 HP 316 stainless Dosing Pump, Patterson Industries 1000 gallon 316L stainless Catalyst prep Tank with Lightnin Agitator, Ledco 360 gallon 316L stainless Catalyst prep Tank, Multiple 316L stainless steel Heat Exchangers, RXN Pump, 316L stainless steel Additive Tanks with Lightnin Agitators and Feed Pumps, Product Vessels, Pressure Filters, Multiple Product Coolers and Heaters, Supporting Structure is also available, does not include the building. Multiple Prints including System Process & Footprint. More info & inspections are available upon request.
