In Premier's ESD nomenclature, the "10" designates the grinding chamber volume of 10 liters (2.64 U.S. gallons) rather than a batch size, since the machine is a continuous-flow mill and has no fixed batch capacity. Throughput and batch size depend on the product viscosity and the particle fineness required, with the mill paired to a feed or recirculation tank 10100 gallons for lab and pilot work, and 50300 gallons for production recirculation.
