Aaron Equipment’s Exhibition at 2015 NPE Show Hits Multiple Success Notes

Before Aaron Equipment even set up its booth at the recent 2015 NPE Show, a current of success was already buzzing in the air. This year’s International Plastics Showcase, held March 23–27, 2015 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, was already being billed as the largest-ever NPE before its doors ever opened. As the world’s most important plastics trade show and conference of the year, it anticipated bringing together more than 60,000 industry professionals from every sector of the plastics industry.

The electricity surrounding the event proved contagious, with Aaron Equipment Company closing out the exhibition on a multitude of successful high notes. “From the get-go we really lucked out with our location,” says Bob Perna, Plastics Equipment Specialist for Aaron. That booth, #7777 in the north end of the West Building, occupied 20 x 40 area of prime real estate, facing oncoming traffic head on.

Perhaps not surprisingly then, “The booth was always crowded. We were consistently busy all five days,” Perna enthuses. Aaron Equipment made it easy on attendees who may have been feeling overwhelmed by the show’s grand scale. “We put up graphics on the back wall of our two-story booth that were a great hit,” Perna continues. As a result, instead of fielding questions about what Aaron Equipment actually does, those individuals manning the booth were able to focus on making connections. “It (what we do) was all over the wall and in the large prints at the top: We Buy and Sell Plastics Equipment. This weeded out those attendees who did not know what we did.”

That’s not the only pre-preparation Aaron Equipment initiated. In advance of the show’s opening date, the company also ran several ads in the plastics publications. The response from people who saw the advertisements in these magazines was tremendous. They visited Aaron’s booth in droves.

All of that foresight paid off for Aaron Equipment. “Most of the people dropping by our booth were actual equipment buyers and not just curiosity seekers.” The seriousness of those dropping by was so strong, in fact, that less than a month after the NPE Show came to an end the company has already made sales from contacts who visited the booth. And these aren’t just former Aaron clients who needed a little memory jogger about what the company has to offer. “Many visitors were new and have not done business with Aaron before,” Perna points out.

Aaron attributes its success as the International Plastics Showcase in large part to its staff members. “We had fun, but also everyone worked together as a team,” Perna stresses. “This was one of one of those shows you use as a standard for others. The genuine team effort we displayed from start to finish will go down as a model for future similar endeavors.”

In sum, Perna calls the 2015 NPE Show “one of our best shows to date. It was three years in the making, but in the end the effort paid off multiple times over.”
