Description

This Used Ross HDM-40 Double Planetary Mixer is a heavy-duty, vacuum-rated mixing system designed for high-viscosity formulations requiring intensive blending and deaeration. With a 5 to 40-gallon working capacity, the unit is engineered to mix under full vacuum up to –29½” Hg, making it ideal for products sensitive to air entrapment.

All product contact parts are constructed of 316 stainless steel with a 150-grit finish, while exterior surfaces feature an 80-grit stainless finish. Carbon steel components are coated with a two-component epoxy paint system for durability and corrosion resistance.

The mixer is powered by a 15 HP motor (to be confirmed) with a mechanical variable speed drive, allowing precise speed adjustment for different viscosity ranges. An air-over-oil hydraulic lift system raises and lowers the mix head and blades smoothly and safely.

The vacuum hood includes:

• 2” sight port

• Integrated light fixture

• Vacuum exhaust port

• 80W / 120V explosion-proof (EX-PROOF) light port

Included is one 316SS mix can (non-jacketed), internally machined for use with a discharge press, and fitted with a 4” Tri-Clover 316L stainless flush plug bottom outlet. The can is mounted on casters with a push-pull handle for easy movement.
