Process Description: The Solvent Extraction plant has a capacity of 420 Ton per day of crushed feed which contains approximate 80 Ton of oil. 99% of the oil is recovered by the solvent extraction process with the meal product being returned to the Meal section and the oil returned to the Refining section. The plant is located directly between the Grain Crushing plant and the new Solvents Extraction plant. A vapor wall is in place between the old and new Solvents Extraction plants and the Grain Crushing plant is separated by a Brick or concrete wall. The De Smet Extraction Plant can be used for various operations for extracting oils from meal by use of a solvent.
