Aaron Engineered Process Equipment LLC Achieves PMMI Membership by Majority Vote

Aaron Engineered Process Equipment LLC recently received word that the Board of Directors of PMMI (http://www.pmmi.org) have voted to approve the company’s membership application. The leading global resource for processing and packaging, PMMI is a non-profit trade association that was founded in 1993. Today, its 700+ member companies manufacture packaging, processing and packaging-related converting machinery, commercially-available packaging machinery components, containers and materials in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Board voting took place on April 11, 2015 during PMMI's 2015 Executive Leadership Conference in Ponte Vedra, Florida. The newly installed members were officially announced to the public on April 15. What set this year’s new members apart was their sheer size. In the press release announcing the new members, PMMI Chairman Bill Crist explained, “An incoming class of PMMI member companies this large clearly shows the great value PMMI brings to the processing and packaging industry.”

But that influx isn’t based on simply the increased number of companies applying. Membership is not, in fact, guaranteed into the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. Indeed, general membership such as Aaron Engineered Process Equipment LLC received entails a rigorous qualification process.

The first requirement for PMMI membership is that the company must have been engaged in the manufacturing of processing, packaging or packaging-related converting equipment in the United States, Canada or Mexico for a period of two years prior to application. As a secondary condition, the company must demonstrate minimum annual sales of at least US$500,000 of eligible equipment. And finally, a PMMI member must have been elected by the affirmative vote of the majority of the association’s Board of Directors. As part of this Board of Director voting process, a member of the Membership Committee, PMMI staff or a selected PMMI member visits the applicant's plant prior to the Board’s final vote.
