Unused Model BM-223 all-stainless-steel ball mill featuring a 2 tapered cylinder for full discharge and a split, hinged clamshell dry discharge housing. The cylinder measures 40 inches in diameter by 44 inches long inside the shell, with an internal finish of 32 RA (180 grit polish) and a shell thickness of 5/8 inch. The cylinder and product-contact surfaces are constructed of 304 stainless steel. Welded lifter bars terminate 1.5 inches from the ends, with welds laid down and ground to a minimum 1/4 inch radius and finished pit-free. The total mill volume is 32 ft (234 gallons), with a dry working volume of 8 ft (25% of total). The unit includes a 13.25 inch by 14.75 inch rectangular cover hatch frame welded into the side of the mill, a stainless steel grinding cover contoured to the inside radius, and a stainless steel dry discharge cover with 0.25 inch slots. The dry discharge housing fully encloses the mill cylinder to capture and direct solids to a chute or hopper, utilizing the patented 2 taper for full discharge (US Patent 10,086,379, Oct 2, 2018). The clamshell housing design incorporates stainless counterweights and stainless steel construction, with a nominal 60 chute/hopper below the mill and a 12 inch square bottom opening. Housing product-contact surfaces are 304 stainless steel with a 32 RA (180 grit polish) finish. Discharge height is 48 inches from hatch to floor. Additional features include a sliding UHMW cover on top of the housing. The mill drive is an SEW hollow bore, 20 HP TEFC motor rated for 230/460 volt, 3-phase, 60 Hz operation, providing a nominal cylinder speed of 24 RPM. The system is supported by two welded A" frame stands with box-style extensions for added height, constructed of carbon steel and coated with Sherwin-Williams Tile Clad epoxy. Overall dimensions are 138 inches high by 105 inches long by 64 inches deep.
