Description

The Used Ross HDM-40 Double Planetary Mixer is a heavy-duty vacuum processing system designed for 5 to 40-gallon working capacities. Engineered for mixing high-viscosity materials under full vacuum (29-1/2" Hg), this mixer is ideal for applications requiring thorough blending, deaeration, and precise batch control.

The mixer features an air-over-oil hydraulic lift system that raises and lowers the drive assembly and mixing blades for easy vessel loading, unloading, and cleaning. All product contact surfaces are fabricated from 316 stainless steel with a 150-grit sanitary finish, while exterior stainless steel surfaces feature an 80-grit finish. Carbon steel components are protected with a durable two-component epoxy coating for long service life.

Power is provided by a 15 HP mechanical variable-speed drive (horsepower to be confirmed), allowing operators to adjust mixing speeds for a variety of products and viscosities. The mixer is equipped with standard rectangular-profile planetary mixing blades and includes a 480-volt control panel.

The vacuum hood includes a 2-inch sight port, vacuum exhaust connection, integrated light fixture, and an additional 80-watt, 120-volt explosion-proof light for improved process visibility. Included is one 316 stainless steel non-jacketed mixing can, internally machined for compatibility with a discharge press and fitted with a 4-inch Tri-Clover® flush plug bottom outlet. The vessel is mounted on casters with a push/pull handle for easy movement.
