In most process chilling systems and cooling applications, a pumping system circulates a refrigerant from the chiller to the process through four main components which include an evaporator, compressor, condenser and expansion valve. This cool fluid removes heat from the process and then returns the warm liquid back to the chiller. By eliminating the heat, the equipment stays cool and keeps the production process moving. It also maximizes the lifetime of the components. Some important details to consider when buying an used industrial chillers include: the power source, chiller cooling capacity, evaporator type, evaporator material, evaporator capacity, condenser capacity, condenser material, ambient temperature, noise level, internal piping materials, types of compressor, coolant requirements, and fluid discharge temperature.
