Used Direct Steam Injection Sterilization System, 65 GPM. Vacuum Thermal Instant Sterilization (VTIS) is designed to sterilize fermentation media at temperatures up to 290F for 20 second hold time. Product is pre-heated to 175F before going into the Hydrothermal Steam Injector. The Steam injector puts steam in direct contact with the product and then it goes into the flash chamber, which removes the extra water added from the condensed steam. Then the sterilized product is cooled to the final temperature in the Regeneration Heat Exchanger section. Upon exiting the regen section, the product goes from the VTIS Skid to the fermenter.

Used Lagarde 2B E autoclave, manufactured in 2021, is a static retort autoclave with a horizontal cylindrical chamber and a working volume of 5,490 liters. The vessel has an internal diameter of 1,300 mm and is mounted on two support legs, designed to process four baskets supported by two internal guide rails. The unit is equipped with a steam injection and distribution ramp, a water suction system with filter plate, and a water distribution ramp with spray nozzles positioned above the baskets. Process operations including heating, cooling, pressure regulation, and draining are controlled by automatic valves, while pressure gauges and sensors mounted on top of the vessel provide monitoring. The vessel body, internal components, rails, steam ramp, and external piping are constructed from AISI 304 stainless steel, and the painted steel control cabinet, mounted on the right side, includes a touchscreen HMI and emergency stop controls. The autoclave operates at a service pressure range of 0 to 5 bar (relative) with a maximum operating temperature of 158 C, and requires a 400 V, 50 Hz electrical supply.
