Used 3.2 MW Cogeneration Plant – (4) Caterpillar G3516 Engines, Trane Chillers, Heat Recovery
Used- 3.2 MW Cogeneration Plant;Includes: (4) Caterpillar G3516 SITA engines, mated to Caterpillar SR-4 or SR-4B generators rated at 800KW; 480V, 1200A. The plant is designed to run on Natural Gas with (2) 420 Ton Trane Absorption Chillers; (1) 630 Ton Trane Centrifugal Chiller, and (1) Recold chiller unit; All energy is recovered through a system of exhaust and cooling water heat recovery units. The units have wet exhaust systems that capture the exhaust heat, as well as the cooling water heat in a shell and tube heat exchanger (one for each generator). Exhaust gas temperature is approximately 800F, and block water enters the heat exchanger at 205F. After the heat exchanger, water enters the two absorption chillers at 230F. Engine intake water is approximately 200F after processing through the chillers. The (2) generator turbos are cooled through a closed cooling loop with a Recold unit. Mfg. 2009.

The system includes advanced energy recovery capabilities using both exhaust and cooling water heat recovery units. The wet exhaust systems capture exhaust heat, while cooling water heat is recovered to optimize efficiency.
