After graduating from Pennsylvania State University, in 1973, I began my working life, thinking I’d like advertising and public relations. I worked in that field for a short time for After Six, Inc, the formal wear manufacturing company. While there, I transitioned to their sales department and found my calling, though not in the apparel field.
In June of 1976 I started working in sales for Perry Equipment (now Perry Videx) in Hainesport, NJ, and found what I’ve loved since the day I started. I formally transitioned from sales to procurement in 1987 and continued with them until the end of 1993. I left and moved to Houston, TX and Louisiana Chemical Equipment at the onset of 1994, primarily handling procurement duties for them as well.
After seven years at LCEC, I began to think I might like to try my hand at M&E appraisals and moved to Rosen Systems in early 2001. Alas, I wasn’t as sharp at it as I’d hoped and left Rosen in late 2002. In searching for my next job, I called Jim Newman at Loeb Equipment, who hired me, with my family moving again, this time to Chicago. I began there in early 2003 and remained until the present, though I had a year or so of full retirement in 2015 before beginning again with Loeb on a part time basis, providing them with about 14 hours a week.
I am now super excited to be joining the Cohen’s at Aaron Equipment. I worked with both Les and Jerry from my days at Perry, and continued working with Michael from his inception with the company out of college. I am looking forward to continuing to help them grow and prosper.
