Aaron Kendell Packaging Expands Sales Staff with the Return of Pat Quinn!

by AaronEquipmentCo21. October 2011 12:41
Used Equipment Veteran Joins AEK Packaging as Senior Salesman Chicago, IL – October 21, 2011 - Aaron Kendell Packaging Equipment is pleased to welcome Pat Quinn and his 22 years of experience to the sales team at AEK Packaging. After 12 successful years with the Aaron Equipment family, Pat took a short detour to help a start-up company get their packaging equipment sales off the ground. After three years, Pat decided to come back to where he once called home, bringing his expertise back to the Aaron Group of companies. Quinn’s previous experience, industry reputation and previous tenure at Aaron Equipment was something the AEK Packaging Equipment division could not pass up. According to the U.S department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, “The median number of years that wage and salary workers had been with their current employer was 4.4 in January of 2010.” Quinn’s previous loyalty and dedication almost tripled that figure. Nor could the company overlook Pat’s total experience in selling used process machinery, plastic equipment and focus on packaging machinery. In all, he brings more than 22 years of experience in providing solutions to customers needing used packaging or processing equipment. What prompted Quinn to return to the Aaron Family? He cites a combination of the launch of its AEK Packaging division over two years ago in addition to the team atmosphere within the sales department he once loved as his impetus. “The fact that AEK is relatively new and growing so rapidly allows me the opportunity to use my technical expertise and customer relationships to help expand the company and help the company reach the next level” he explains. “The amount of inventory AEK offers to sell and the resources they have in place to manage assets or buy surplus equipment worldwide is second to none”. His longstanding history with the division’s parent company and employment stability it once provided him contributed to Quinn’s decision as well. He views his new role as the next progression in his successful sales career path. “AEK gives me a broader base to work with customers and apply my years of expertise to help provide solutions for their equipment needs. Our company is truly a one stop shop for all of our customers packaging and processing equipment needs” What is Quinn looking forward to most in his new role at AEK Packaging? I’m excited about promoting the new division of a company that helped my career start. I’m also thrilled to have access to all of the Aaron resources and global reach to achieve that aim. Having already established himself as a good fit with the corporate management and goals, Quinn looks forward to the possibility of another 10, or more, years as an Aaron Equipment team member Packaging equipment users who would like to leverage Quinn’s sales expertise and experience can learn more about what AEK Packaging has to offer online at http://www.aekpack.com. A Global Leader in Used and New Equipment

by AaronEquipmentCo17. September 2011 13:36
One of the largest global dealers of used and new equipment, Aaron Equipment Company specializes in process and packaging equipment for the pharmaceutical, food, plastics, chemical and allied industries. In recent years, the company has provided consulting services to several Fortune 100 companies whose large projects have involved multiple sites. These sites’ equipment has ranged from commodity plant utilities to highly engineered process systems. To help them achieve the highest ROI, Aaron recommended selling their equipment through multiple sales channels: 1. Onsite liquidation 2. Retail sales 3. Online auction Aaron’s significant storage facilities (over 400,000 square feet of inside storage and 40 acres of outside storage), shop capabilities and staff in North America and Europe renders the company well-established for both retail equipment sales and offsite liquidations. As online transactions increased, Aaron quickly recognized a void. The company had been utilizing third-party auction sites to sell its own inventory. Management soon discovered, however, that this approach prevented them from leveraging their market data. Desiring the ability to sell equipment in house across multiple sales channels, Aaron created its own custom online auction platform. Hence, AIM (Aaron Industrial Marketplace) was born and tightly integrated with the company’s internal systems and analytics. Orchestration of Aaron’s three sales channels with its data and analytics has resulted in higher and faster returns (e.g., prior to a sales campaign the company provides historical demand and sales history to determine reserve pricing, if applicable). Once the sales process begins, Aaron provides management with real-time quote history, web traffic and other proprietary market information. This data enhances decision-making (e.g., when to change sales channels or whether a negotiated sales offer should be accepted). Aaron is a proven partner having worked with many major auction firms and is confident its new capabilities will lead to many more such partnerships. Those who have worked with the company know Aaron for appraisals assistance, our management is “easy to do business with” and every effort is made to work the deal! In the event a sale fails to bring the desired minimum, Aaron can now provide more than just its traditional sales channel. Our multiple selling streams set us apart. For clientele who do not have their own sites, AIM is available as a value added service as it can be used to private label 3rd party sales.

AEK Packaging’s New Warehouse a Sign of Economic Recovery

by AaronEquipmentCo2. April 2010 16:37
Packaging Equipment Company Expands as U.S. Equipment Spending Experiences Upswing Chicago, IL – March 29, 2010 – When AEK Packaging opened a new 55,000 square foot climate-controlled warehouse in Bensenville, Ill. last year, its expansion effort went against the grain of most business trends. At that time, only 13 percent of manufacturers indicated to PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC that they had plans to expand their business geographically. What’s more, the dealer of used packaging equipment débuted the new storage facility in style, nearly doubling the size of its previous location in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. As it turns out, that leap of business faith couldn’t have been a timelier decision. According to a November 2009 Associated Press article, U.S. “companies [were] starting to spend on equipment.” That upswing in third-quarter spending on equipment purchases may have been a small one, but it was the first of its kind in nearly two years. It also foreboded optimism in overall economic recovery. As the article pointed out, “When businesses spend more on equipment, jobs can eventually be created at companies that make the machines and the parts that go into them.” Indeed, chief investment strategist Edward Yardeni predicted that businesses would “boost their spending on capital equipment at around a 10 percent annualized rate in the current October-to-December quarter.” Because it had already opened an expanded the new packaging equipment center, AEK Packaging was poised to meet this newfound demand and, in the process, help jumpstart that long-awaited financial comeback. While the increased spending indicated that “some businesses managed to save enough during the recession to spend more now … others can’t get loans to expand their plants and instead must upgrade the equipment they have.” Because the company carries both new and used packaging equipment, AEK Packaging caters to businesses that fall into either category by having equipment that is immediately available for shipment at very competitive prices. AEK Packaging joins together the financial resources and global reach of Aaron Equipment Company, Inc. and the equipment expertise of Kendell Equipment, two firms that bring nearly a century of combined history to the merger. The company’s inventory contains the best-quality packaging machinery from the aerosol, beverage, bakery, chemical, contract packaging, cosmetic, food and pharmaceutical industries. The central location of AEK Packaging’s new warehouse – just outside of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport – makes it easier for out-of-state and international customers to inspect equipment before purchasing it. KC Christensen, founder of Kendell Equipment and who will head up AEK Packaging, attributes much of the company’s success to its diverse inventory and competitive prices. “Although some companies are loosening their purse strings many corporate budgets are still tight. Our customers have been able to stretch their capital and find great value with our used equipment inventory, which generally runs 50 to 60 percent less than the cost of new equipment. For customers with no capital budget, we have been able to provide short-term monthly equipment rentals that they can expense from their operating budgets.” Businesses owners who would like to ensure they’re part of this equipment spending renaissance can learn more about AEK Packaging’s used packaging equipment online at http://www.aekpack.com. Interested media may arrange a company interview by calling (630) 238-2660.     KC Christensen explains the operation of a Pharmaceutical Case Packer during an inspection in AEK Packaging’s new warehouse.
